Mexico :

What the hell, was the AP sleeping, hijacked or did it get hit upside the head with one of those mythical stupid sticks?
According to the Dallas Fort Worth NBC online news, AP released an official copyrighted news note on March 9, 2009 with the headline: Soldiers Sent to Texas-Mexico Border to Curb Drug War.
One thousand soldiers are being sent to the Texas-Mexico border to help control the latest outbreaks of violence by Mexican drug cartels. The headline is completely credible as during this time Mexico began sending thousands of new soldiers and federal police to patrol Ciudad Juarez which is located on the Tex-Mex border, just across from El Paso, Texas.
The move is the latest by the U.S. Government to try to free citizens from daily assassinations, kidnappings and beheadings.
In the first 8 weeks of 2009, more than 1,000 people have been killed in the border drug war — taxing Mexican morgues beyond capacity.
Drug cartels are now estimated to include more than 1,000 members.

I guess my doubts stem from the fact that according to this press release, these troops have been sent by the United States government. The picture offered of these brave troops sent by the U.S. government to try to free citizens from daily assassinations, kidnappings and beheadings boggles me even more:

The photo states U.S. troops are joining Mexican Federal Police on the El Paso-Ciudad Juarez border, I see Mexicans, but where the hell are the Americans?
So what became of AP’s 78 promising words of U.S. assistance? Nada, zilch, nothing. Although Texas Govenor, Rick Perry did request troops along this border, for the time being President Obama has denied the request stating:
“We’ve got a very big border with Mexico, I’m not interested in militarizing the border. We’re going to examine whether and if National Guard deployments would make sense and under what circumstances they would make sense.”The moral of this story: Not everything you read is factual, even if written by the bible of all presses, AP.
-President Obama
