How Al Jazeera reporter Casey Kauffman delivers the unexpected


After obtaining his political science degree at Stanford University, Casey Kauffman joined the Al Jazeera English staff just prior to its launch in November of 2006. Kauffman was attracted to the controversial Arabic news network because of their willingness to be different. Since then, an average assignment for the brave reporter looks something like this:
  • Spend four days in Congolese jungle
  • Escape an enraged mob
  • Get detained by Congolese military personnel
  • Finally get the interview you're looking for
