In the screen shot above the guest expert uses an analog chart to show four types of radiation and what materials will stop the radiation from penetrating. This AM, levels have been decreasing. And if they can get power restored by tonight that would be very good news. The ability to cool at least one of the reactors would be greatly increased if power can be restored. But restoring the power will not be easy today for the workers given the radiation on the site.

CNN, etc. seem to be sensationalizing the nuclear crisis news from Japan to say the least. NHK (a bit like the BBC in UK) is quite good. Bookmark the Ustream link if you can and keep that on instead.
