  • Myer to offer Botox injections in stores
  • Service an attempt to lift sagging sales
  • One round of Botox to cost $550
MYER will inject Botox into its department stores to lift the chain's sagging sales, says its chief executive officer Bernie Brookes.
Botox is a chemical injected into the face to temporarily smooth the appearance of wrinkles.
The cosmetic service which will be provided by an external company, costs about $550 for a series of five injections, with each round taking 30 minutes.
Next month, a number of Myer stores in Sydney and Melbourne will offer the service.
The move is Myer chief executive Bernie Brookes attempt to bring shoppers revive the company’s sales, which have remained the same per square metre for the past decade, as the retail industry struggles against frugal customers, reported The Australian.
It comes as Myer shares sank 2.2 per cent to an all-time low this morning at $2.63 a share.
It is also calculated to attract more shoppers to Myer stores, as many increasingly turn to the internet for overseas bargains.
The store will also increase its service staff by about 9 per cent this year, with more specialist staff in areas like lingerie and footwear.
The injections come on top of a number of in-store services Myer already offers, including massages, hair and nail treatment, personal shopping and weight-watcher clinics.

  1. I don't know is botox should be injected in stores.....from what I know there should be a special environment for botox injections....and if they won't provide one, I don't know if this would be possible. But on the other hand I guess they thought about this and found a solution.
